Transmission Connection

FMPA is the administrator of the Transmission Connection Process for itself and on behalf of FMPA’s All Requirements Power Supply Project Participants that own Bulk Electric System transmission facilities (i.e., 100 kV and higher). In addition to FMPA itself, the utilities for which FMPA is administering this function include:

City of Clewiston
Ft. Pierce Utilities Authority
Keys Energy Service
Kissimmee Utility Authority
City of Lake Worth Utilities
Ocala Electric Utility
City of Vero Beach, Electric Utilities

In this role, FMPA:
•Administers the connection application process
•Leads the performance of connection studies (Connection Feasibility, System Impact and Facilities Study)
•Leads negotiations for the Connection and Operations Agreement
•Administers the Connection and Operations Agreement.

The Transmission Connection Process and the Facility Connection Technical Requirements are described in the document: FMPA Facility Connection Requirements. Applications will be processed in the order they were received in the FMPA Connection Queue. The Transmission Connection Process applies to connection of Generation, Transmission and End Use Facilities to the transmission system.
