Energy
Star
Florida
Municipal Power Agency (FMPA) has a partnership agreement
with ENERGY STAR®, a government-backed program helping
businesses and individuals protect the environment through
superior energy efficiency. FMPA’s ENERGY STAR program
is one of many services FMPA provides to support Florida’s
community-owned electric utilities.
Partnering with ENERGY STAR and working together through FMPA
makes it convenient and cost effective for FMPA’s members
to bring the benefits of energy efficiency to their hometown
utility.
ENERGY STAR, backed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
and Department of Energy, provides the strategies and tools
to help utilities promote different energy-saving campaigns.

Online
Energy Audit Program
FMPA
has an agreement in place with Enercom to provide FMPA members
with the opportunity to offer “Energy Depot for Homes”
online energy audits to their customers. The software includes:
- Personal
Energy Profile - Allows customers to conduct online do-it-yourself
home energy audits. Customers can choose from a comprehensive
"Full Audit" or a quick "EZ Audit".
- Energy
Calculator - Allows customers to quickly estimate the annual
energy use and cost to operate the complete range of home
electric and natural gas systems including everything from
HVAC systems to minor appliances.
-
Energy Library - A library of fact sheets on a wide range
of home energy systems and efficiency opportunities.
- Energy
Advisor - An email question and answer tool that allows
customers to receive answers to any remaining energy questions.
Enercom
has implemented a master site version of its Energy Depot
for Homes Software for FMPA, and each participating member
has their own unique URL, which allows their customers to
access local utility rates, weather data, and other variables
unique to the individual cities.
For
additional information, please contact Sharon Samuels at FMPA.

ESCO
ESCO is a Key Accounts program, which is designed to build
and maintain relationships between members and their key customers.
FMPA coordinates the relationship between participating members
and contractors to provide project-type services such as lighting
retrofits, HVAC upgrades, and energy management system services.
Please contact Sharon Smeenk for details.

Energy
Auditor Program
FMPA coordinates training and roundtable meetings for Energy
Auditors from member utilities. In general, the program
includes coordinating roundtable meetings twice each year
to provide a forum for Energy Auditors from member utilities
to exchange information and ideas. In addition, FMPA
coordinates training sessions and presentations as part of
the roundtable. The training topics are based on topics
suggested by the participating Energy Auditors. Participants
may be asked to pay tuition to cover the costs of the training.
There is no fee to participate in the roundtable program.
Please see the Member Services Calendar
for upcoming events. Contact Sharon Samuels.
