Restored to More Than 45,000 Customers of FMPA’s All-Requirements
Members
Several utilities reported interruption of service this
afternoon; all customers have been restored
ORLANDO,
Fla., Feb. 26, 2008 – Power outages impacted some members
of FMPA’s All-Requirements Project today, but service
has been restored to the more than 45,000 customers impacted
by the interruption.
FMPA
is a wholesale power agency owned by municipal electric utilities
in Florida. FMPA’s All-Requirements Project provides
all the wholesale power needs of 15 cities, including Bushnell,
Clewiston, Fort Meade, Fort Pierce, Green Cove Springs, Town
of Havana, Kissimmee, Jacksonville Beach, Key West, Lake Worth,
Leesburg, Newberry, Ocala, Starke and Vero Beach.
For
All-Requirements communities that experienced an outage, the
outage was relatively brief in duration. Preliminary results
indicated all back-up systems operated as designed.

authority overseeing electrical system reliability in the
