Vince Ruano, Chairman

Vince Ruano is City Manager for the city of Bushnell, Fla., and he serves as the elected Chairman of the Florida Municipal Power Agency.

Ruano has served as Bushnell’s City Manager since 1981. Prior to joining Bushnell, he served five years as the Public Works Director for the city of Mascotte, Fla., and one year with Orange County, Fla., Water and Wastewater Department.

This is Ruano’s third consecutive term as Chairman. He was elected as FMPA’s Chairman in July 2009 and re-elected in 2010 and 2011. Previously, he served five years as FMPA’s Vice Chair, nine years as FMPA’s Secretary and four years as FMPA’s Assistant Secretary-Treasurer. He has been a member of FMPA’s Board of Directors since 1985 and a member of the Executive Committee since 1987.

Ruano studied engineering at the University of Maryland and business at the University of Central Florida. He is a state certified operator of water and wastewater systems.
