Lou Hernandez, Secretary

Lou Hernandez is Chairman of the Utility Board of the city of Key West, and he serves as the elected Secretary of the Florida Municipal Power Agency.

Hernandez was elected as FMPA's Secretary in July 2009 and re-elected in 2010 and 2012. He has served on FMPA's Board of Directors since 2007.

Hernandez has served on the Keys Energy Services Utility Board since 1997. Mr. Hernandez is the CEO of Helpline, Inc., a crisis telephone hotline, information and referral service in Monroe County, Florida. He has served on several local Key West groups, including the Historic Architectural Review Commission, Key West Redevelopment Land Agency and Citizen's Review Board of the City of Key West. He has also worked with several Federal agencies, completing his career in Washington, D.C., as the Director of Training and Employee Development with the General Services Administration.
