Other Services
The Member Services Department is always looking for opportunities to provide relevant training programs, workshops and services for FMPA's members.
Information Systems assistance available
Assistance for various types of Information System services is available. FMPA staff can provide hardware and software recommendations, technical assistance, installation and troubleshooting.
Peer reviews lend the knowledge and expertise to assist fellow utilities
A member may request a peer review in almost any area of operations. FMPA will help organize a group of qualified volunteers to conduct the review and prepare a written report of their recommendations. Members who have used this service in the past have received valuable information on important topics, such as transmission and distribution, billing and customer services, finance, meter reading, computer operations and generation operations. The participation of each member of the inspection team and the core review team is funded by each respective member city. Per diem expenses are paid by the member requesting the peer review assistance.
Outside vendors provide a range of rate services to members
FMPA has awarded a contract to four vendors to provide rate services, including rate reviews, rate study and rate design. The consultants are: A&S Linxwiler, R.W. Beck, Virchow, Krause & Co. and Utility Financial Solutions, LLC.
The Joint Action Recruiting Program allows members to nationally advertise employment opportunities
Through the Joint Action Recruiting Program (JARP), FMPA filters resumes and generates potential candidate interest through mass recruiting efforts designed to target energy professionals.
Legal assistance is available to members
FMPA’s legal staff is available to assist with tax related issues, PSC matters, territorial disputes, and general contracting issues.
