Safety Services

Safety training programs ensure line crews are aware of and protected from potential hazards while on the job. FMPA's Safety Training Program covers a variety of topics, including transformer connections, distribution switching, bucket truck and pole top rescue, chainsaw safety and accident investigation.

The Safety Training Program is offered by the Electric Cities of Georgia and is presented on an ongoing basis at member utilities. Costs are based on the number of staff participating in the training program.

Safety Training Workshops are offered throughout the year
FMPA hosts workshops and training courses on a variety of safety related topics, such as safety compliance for electric utilities, switching and tagging safety compliance, grounding, accident investigation and arc hazard assessment. These programs can be offered at FMPA's office or individual utility locations. FMPA Member Services can also coordinate onsite training sessions and invite other FMPA member utilities to participate to reduce the cost of the in-house training.

FMPA is a member of the North Central Florida Safety Council (NCFSC), which enables members to receive membership benefits
The NCFSC offers a variety of safety training services, including Department of Transportation Maintenance of Traffic Training, CPR/AED Training, as well as training in a variety of other safety-related topics. Training programs can be provided at the NCFSC offices or at an FMPA member's location. In addition, FMPA members can borrow for free any of the 400 training videos available from the NCFSC library. NCFSC staff are also available for consultation and safety compliance services for a fee.

Full-service safety consultants provide members with a variety of services
FMPA has an agreement in place with SET Solutions LLC, and the Workplace Safety Awareness Council, to provide various services, including: safety compliance audits, development of safety policies, procedures and programs, and safety training.
