Power Supply Projects

The Agency has five power supply projects. Fourteen members purchase all their power requirements from the Agency. Six municipal utilities purchase some of their power needs from the Agency. Some members do not currently participate in a project.

All-Requirements Project
FMPA’s largest power supply project, the All-Requirements Project, serves all the wholesale power needs of 14 cities. All-Requirements enables municipal utilities of all sizes to become owners—not just customers—of an efficient statewide power system.

St. Lucie Project
The St. Lucie Project is an 8.8% ownership in St. Lucie Unit 2, an 838 MW nuclear power plant operated by Florida Power and Light. The plant is located on Hutchinson Island in southeast St. Lucie County, Fla. Fifteen members participate in this project.

Stanton Project
The Stanton Project is a 14.8% ownership interest in Stanton Unit 1, a 425 MW coal-fired plant operated by Orlando Utilities Commission. The plant is located in southeast Orlando, Fla. Six members participate in this project.

Tri-City Project
The Tri-City Project is a 5.3% ownership interest in Stanton Unit 1, a 425 MW coal-fired plant operated by Orlando Utilities Commission. The plant is located in southeast Orlando, Fla. Three members participate in this project.

Stanton II Project
The Stanton II Project is a 23.2% ownership interest in Stanton Unit 2, a 429 MW coal-fired plant operated by Orlando Utilities Commission. The plant is located in southeast Orlando, Fla. Seven members participate in this project.
